Parent Guide

How many Teams will FTK have?

We will create 1 team per grad year, this is dependent on number of registrations for a particular season. We will also have 1 High School National Team that will be chosen from an Invitation Only try-out.

How many players do you take per team?

We typically take 18-24 players per team. A typical roster would consist of 5 Attack, 8 Midfield, 5 Defense, 2 Goalies.

Who is our primary admin contact?

Our primary administrative contact can be reached at [email protected]

What is your policy on playing time?

Players and Parents must understand that this is a competitive travel program and there will be a depth chart for playing time. Coaches will do their very best to give all players the opportunity to showcase their skills, but playing time is at the discretion of the teams Head Coach.

What are the parents like? What is the culture of the program?

We work hard with our parents, coaches and administrators to foster a sense of community and a family atmosphere with each team in our program. We work to create a warm and welcoming environment for all involved.

How do we know what hotels to stay in?

FTK will either make a hotel block or pass on the info for the tournament hotel block if required by the tournament.  We will provide all hotel information prior to events that require an overnight stay. We will publish tournament hotels on the team page.

How do we get TEAM and FAN gear?

FTK will set-up online stores twice a year (early Fall and Spring), so families can order FAN GEAR at the start of each season. Team store links are sent out to families after tryouts and registration. Team gear will be distributed at Training Camp.

Are FTK Helmets Required?

For rising 8th graders and older, FTK team helmets are required.  FTK has a 'Team First' mentality.  We recognize that our players come from a variety of different programs and we love that!  Our coaches teach with the mentality that although we are opponents in the Spring, we have come together to be friends and to be One Team.

How often do you practice?

We typically have multiple practices in the lead-up to the summer season. (2 per week beginning in May/June)

Does playing in a FTK Team help our son make the FTK National Team?

There are some benefits that naturally exist between the FTK statewide teams (Terminology, some offensive and defensive philosophies etc), however the National tryouts are extremely competitive and we do not want parents to be misled into thinking that their son has a special advantage over other boys at those tryouts.

Are there any other FTK parent policies?

  • Parents will let the program director and their son's coach know in advance if their player has any conflicts with a team event.
  • Parents will be supportive and good role models of sportsmanship and teamwork at all times.
  • Parents will respect coaches, players, opponents, other parents, and refs at all times.
  • During game play parents will cheer from the opposing sideline and will not coach any player(s).

What is your refund policy?

Once a player registers and places a deposit to be added to the roster of a FTK Lacrosse team, they have made a commitment to the program for the duration of the season.  Players are expected to participate in all practices and tournaments (unless prior approval has been granted) and to make payment for all fees associated with their registration.  Refunds will be considered on a case by case basis, but by completing this registration the participant hereby waives all rights to a refund.

Registrants accept that FTK Lacrosse reserve the right to reassign players between Regional programs as needed to fill out rosters for tournament play, though they may attend practices with the Regional team most convenient to the Registrant.

For The Kids Lacrosse is proud to be a part of the growth of lacrosse. Completing registration for our teams is a commitment to a team roster spot.  Players are expected to attend all events their team has committed to.  Please reach out to our Communications Department at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
